Andrews Myers successfully represented subcontractor IES Commercial & Industrial in a complex legal dispute with general contractor Graycor Construction Co. The case arose from the construction of an Amazon Fulfillment Center in Georgia, the project experienced significant delays and cost overruns. IES alleged that Graycor’s mismanagement, interference, and disruptions were responsible for the setbacks, while Graycor countered with claims against IES for project delays and the need for supplemental labor and materials.
The dispute involved competing claims totaling more than $16 million and was set to be litigated in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia. After extensive negotiations, the parties reached a settlement favorable to IES in June 2024, avoiding a protracted federal court battle.
