Andrews Myers Secures Arbitration Award for Specialty Subcontractor in High Stakes Hotel Construction Dispute

Shareholders Clayton C. Utkov and Andy Harris successfully represented a specialty subcontractor in a complex, multi party arbitration arising from the construction of a luxury hotel development. The dispute began when the project owner asserted claims exceeding $250 million against the construction manager, alleging defective work and significant project delays.

In turn, the construction manager filed counterclaims against the owner and initiated third party claims against numerous subcontractors and sureties. Andrews Myers’s client advanced its own claims for damages against the construction manager, vigorously defending its performance and asserting its contractual rights.
The arbitration panel issued an award in favor of Andrews Myers’s client, including damages and recovery of attorneys’ fees.
