Emily Garrett

Overview

Emily’s practice is devoted to commercial real estate, corporate, and commercial transactions. On the real estate side, she advises clients through every phase of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, development, financing, leasing, and entity formation and capitalization. Her corporate and commercial practice encompasses structuring and reorganizing business entities, documenting mergers, acquisitions, financings, and divestitures of business enterprises on both the buy side and sell side. Emily routinely prepares and reviews a wide range of commercial contracts for clients in the energy sector. She also serves on the Firm’s Harvey AI Committee and Technology Committee.

Emily first joined the Firm as a summer law clerk in 2023.  She earned her J.D. from Baylor University School of Law, where she received the Joseph Milton Nance Presidential Full-Tuition Scholarship and was a member of the Baylor Barrister Society. She competed on the Transactional Law Competition Team, and was awarded First Place at the 2023 Duke Interscholastic Transactional Law Competition and First Place at the 2023 Baylor Spring Transactional Law Competition. During her time in law school, she was selected as a judicial extern twice in the U.S. District Court, Western District of Texas, for U.S. District Judge Alan Albright and U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeffrey C. Manske.
