HOUSTON, TX – Andrews Myers, P.C., a top-ranked Texas construction law firm, announced the continued expansion of its commercial real estate practice with the addition of Houston attorney David E. Butts as senior counsel.
“David has extensive experience representing purchasers, sellers and developers in commercial real estate and corporate/commercial transactions,” said Eric Cohen, managing shareholder. “His skills complement our growing practice and are consistent with our goal of providing a one-firm solution for property-related legal matters.”
Butts’ practice focuses on commercial real estate and corporate/commercial transactions. His experience includes representing developers and investors obtaining construction and permanent financing for their projects as well as landlords and tenants in commercial leasing matters.
He also brings significant knowledge and experience in forming and structuring limited partnerships, limited liability companies, corporations and joint ventures. Butts can represent clients with their ongoing business activities such as general contract matters and business purchases and sales.
A 25-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry, Butts maintained a successful solo practice focused on commercial real estate and business law for 14 years prior to joining Andrews Myers, P.C.. Before entering private practice, he served in senior executive positions that included acquisition director for a national real estate developer and vice president for Fuller Commercial Brokerage and the Ben McGuire Company, a commercial mortgage banking subsidiary of Wells Fargo Bank. He began his career as in-house counsel for a local real estate developer.
Butts earned his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 1980 and is a member of the State Bar of Texas and Houston Bar Association. He received his undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin.
