On May 10th, The Women’s Initiative of Andrews Myers hosted their first annual Women Wine Makers Tasting at the firm’s Houston office, with clients and friends in attendance.
Our female attorneys and their guests enjoyed several food and wine pairings, with special care to select wineries with female vintners and owners. Firm Shareholder, Elaine Howard, welcomed guests with an introduction to our newly created Women’s Initiative and conveyed that the purpose of the group was to elevate the development, mentorship, training, retention and recruitment effort centered around our female attorneys.
Adele Corrigan, voted Best Sommelier in the Houston Press Reader’s Choice awards, was our special host who helped to select the women-oriented wines from France, New Zealand, Italy and South Africa, including a South African pinotage by Ntsiki Biyela, winemaker and native Zulu who won South African Woman Winemaker of the Year.
