A BIG BOOST TO BUSINESS LITIGATION:

TEXAS-BASED CORPORATE LAW FIRM ANDREWS MYERS TO BRING IN TRIO OF EXPERIENCED TRIAL LAWYERS TO BOLSTER NEW PRACTICE GROUP

HOUSTON, TX – March 19, 2019 –  Andrews Myers – a corporate law firm with offices in Houston, TX and Austin, TX – has announced the hiring of three dynamic trial lawyers to spearhead its new and quickly growing Business Litigation practice group.  Chief among the threesome is veteran, Hunter M. Barrow, who joins Andrews Myers from Thompson & Knight, after successfully teaming up with the firm on several matters over the past decade.  Stepping into a leadership role on the Business Litigation team, Barrow will utilize his years of experience in commercial trial law.

“I am excited to chart a new course in my law career at Andrews Myers and am eager to hit the ground running,” Barrow noted.  He added, “Over the past 19 years, I have gained valuable experience running complex matters and I plan to bring that insight to Andrews Myers as I lead the Business Litigation group at one of Texas’s most-recognized law firms.”

During his distinguished career in law, Hunter Barrow has cultivated success in trial courts across Texas.  He has experience handling a wide variety of legal matters – including energy, financial institutions, securities, real estate, intellectual property, antitrust, insurance, product liability, and general commercial litigation.  His clients have spanned numerous industries, including energy, banking and finance, real estate development, private equity, and manufacturing.

Alongside Barrow, trial lawyers Jim Aycock and Wade Johnson also join Andrews Myers to work in tandem with Barrow on the Business Litigation team – further strengthening the burgeoning practice group. Growing its bench of trial lawyers is a key component of the firm’s strategic plan, designed to further its status as a full-service business law firm with the resources and team to make an impact in multiple litigation areas across the State of Texas.

“Hunter’s reputation and attitude fits well with our collaborative, team-driven approach and the addition of him, Jim and Wade will absolutely help us grow our business litigation core competency, one of the primary growth goals set forth in our firm’s three-year strategic plan.  It is an exciting time for our firm, and we look forward to the many opportunities that this group provides both our clients and our attorneys,” commented Tim Ross, Hiring Shareholder at Andrews Myers.

Over the course of a 17-year law career, Jim Aycock is a trial attorney who has commonly represented national and regional banks, private and publicly-held energy companies, as well as private corporations and partnerships.  His practice is focused primarily on financial litigation, energy matters, real estate disputes, and general business disputes in state and federal courts, and domestic and international arbitrations.

Wade A. Johnson, who practiced at Thompson & Knight with Barrow, has established a fruitful legal career – with a significant focus on Intellectual Property issues – that has spanned over a decade.  He is a commercial trial lawyer and licensed patent attorney whose practice involves representing clients in complex litigation matters in Federal and State Courts, arbitration proceedings and mediation. Prior to joining Andrews Myers, Wade was the managing partner of litigation at a commercial and intellectual property boutique firm and AMLAW 200 firm partner.

“Tim and I have worked alongside all three of these gentlemen for many years.  Their strong litigation skills and high moral character make them the perfect match for our team.”  With these hires, Andrews Myers continues to zero in on its goal of becoming the premier law firm for all Texas businesses,” emphasized Managing Co-Shareholder, Ben Westcott.  He added, “We have the talent, determination, competitive fee structure and vision to make this ambitious goal a reality.  With Hunter, Jim, and Wade now in the fold, the future is extremely bright.”
