AM Law 200 Litigator, Charles T. “Chuck” Jeremiah, Joins AM as Shareholder

HOUSTON, TX – March 3, 2021 –  Andrews Myers – a business law firm with offices in Houston, TX and Austin, TX – has announced the hiring of employment litigator, Charles T. “Chuck” Jeremiah, as a shareholder in its employment and business litigation practice groups. Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Chuck focuses his practice primarily on management/employer-side representation in litigation, regularly counseling human resource professionals on matters concerning compliance, minimization of risk and best practices.  Previously, Chuck was a partner with an international AM Law 200 firm, where he counseled and represented a wide variety of clients in the healthcare, government, transportation, energy, hospitality, entertainment, financial, technology and construction industries.

Chuck Jeremiah has nearly three decades of experience representing clients in both state and federal courts on employment matters including the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Americans with Disabilities Act, (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Title VII and other anti-discrimination and anti-retaliation statutes.  He has also represented employers in numerous disputes involving theft of confidential information and trade secrets, including actions under the Defend Trade Secrets Act (DTSA), and Texas Uniform Trade Secrets Act (TUTSA), and prosecuted and defended claims for violation of non-compete, non-solicitation and confidentiality agreements.  In addition, he routinely assists clients with the drafting and negotiation of executive employment and severance agreements.

“I am excited to be joining a collaborative and agile firm such as Andrews Myers. Last year was certainly challenging for employers, and 2021 is now posing additional issues. I’m very much looking forward to supporting AM clients through these challenging times and certainly beyond them,” Jeremiah stated.

Chuck also dedicates much of his practice to commercial litigation, where he has developed a keen sense of how to assess and minimize risk and efficiently prepare a case for early disposition by motion or for trial. He has broad experience defending and prosecuting claims for breach of contract, unfair business practices and other complex business disputes. In addition, he has represented numerous Texas cities, counties and other units of local government in claims under the U.S. Constitution and the Texas Tort Claims Act.

He joins shareholders and employment litigators Tony Stergio and Elaine Howard, also board certified in employment law, on the employment team, and Hunter Barrow who leads the firm’s business litigation practice. Continuing to grow its bench of trial lawyers is a key component of the firm’s strategic plan, designed to further its status as a full-service business law firm with the resources and team to make an impact in multiple litigation areas across the State of Texas.

“Chuck’s passion for delivering effective solutions for clients is matched by his technical abilities, and both make him a good fit for our firm. We are still in an unprecedented and challenging time for all businesses, so offering our clients the counsel of nationally renowned and board certified attorneys is something we are very proud of,” commented Tim Ross, Hiring Shareholder at Andrews Myers.
