Andrews Myers Promotes One to Senior Counsel; Six to Senior Associate

HOUSTON, TX (January 3,2023) — Andrews Myers is pleased to announce that seven of its attorneys have been promoted in 2023.

 

SENIOR COUNSEL

ADAM ROBERTSON – Adam Robertson has served as first and second chair in state and federal court trials regarding construction disputes, real estate disputes, breaches of contracts, enforcement of commercial property restrictions, fiduciary breaches, and commercial personal injury. This diverse experience allows him to not only represent his clients in pending litigation but advise them on day-to-day business decisions and the impact those decisions could have. Accordingly, Adam regularly assists clients with contract negotiations and disputes, business-related torts, employment-related matters, construction defects, real estate disputes, non-compete agreements, good-faith claims for oil and gas leases, and personal injuries.

Adam also proudly serves as a coach for the University of Houston Law Center’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Team and the University of Houston Law Center’s Mock Trial Team.

Adam received his Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center and Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Edward’s University.

 

 

SENIOR ASSOCIATES

BRYAN ACKLINBryan Acklin joined Andrews Myers as an attorney in November 2021. His practice is devoted to business litigation, employment law, and construction-related litigation matters. He has participated in over 75 trials during his career, most of which he tried as the first chair attorney.

Bryan received his Juris Doctor from The University of Texas School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University.

COLBY BINFORD – Colby Binford’s practice focuses on construction law, litigation, and alternative dispute resolution. He represents general contractors, subcontractors, and small and mid-sized companies in a variety of construction and business-related disputes. Colby represents a wide group of clients across several industries, including real estate development, property management, construction, and design. He has represented clients in over 200 bench trials and multiple jury trials in the course of his career.

Colby received his Juris Doctor from The University of Houston Law Center and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sam Houston State University.

BLAIN DONNELL – Blain Donnell’s practice primarily focuses on construction litigation, where he advocates for general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and project owners in various capacities, including litigation, negotiations, contract review, and appeals. Prior to joining the firm, Blain worked with a boutique civil litigation firm, known for their construction and transportation experience, representing clients in a variety of disputes.

Blain received his Juris Doctor from Baylor University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Texas at Arlington.

KATIE GOURLEY – Katie Gourley’s practice is devoted to commercial real estate, and corporate and commercial transactions. Prior to joining the firm, Katie was a part of the Andrews Myers summer law clerk program. She also served as a judicial intern in both the 359th District Court and County Court at Law 3.  While at Baylor University School of Law, Katie was a recipient of the Dean’s Academic Excellence Full-Tuition Scholarship Award and received the James R. Dickson Jr. Award for Excellence in Commercial Law.

Katie received her Juris Doctor from Baylor University School of Law and Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas A&M University.

ELLIOT KUDISCH – Elliot Kudisch advocates for and advises our clients in the areas of employment, commercial litigation, and construction. Elliot represents businesses in matters concerning breach of contract disputes, non-compete and trade secret litigation, government agency investigations, wage-and-hour collective actions, and employment discrimination claims. Elliot regularly advises clients on employment matters, including negotiating agreements, investigating internal complaints, drafting employment policies, and compliance with federal and state laws.

Elliot received his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center and Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Houston.

KELLY STAMYKelly’s practice focuses on advocating for general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and owners on a variety of construction-related issues including construction defects, contract termination, mechanic’s liens, performance and payment bonds, breach of contract disputes, and collections matters through litigation and alternative dispute resolution.

Kelly received her Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law and Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction from Houston Baptist University.
