Andrews Myers Expands Four Core Practice Groups with Addition of Three New Shareholders
Construction, Real Estate, Corporate Law, and Trials
HOUSTON, TX (May 26, 2022) — Andrews Myers is pleased to announce the addition of three new shareholders: Bill Erwin, AIA, NCARB joins the Austin office, and Andrew B. Bender and Marc S. Jacobs join the firm’s Houston office. These new shareholders represent and expand upon several of the firm’s key practice areas: construction transactional law, corporate matters, real estate, and complex commercial litigation, including appellate law.
BILL ERWIN – Bill Erwin, who was one of the first attorneys to join our Austin office in June 2013, has rejoined the firm as a shareholder. Board Certified in Construction Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Bill Erwin’s practice focuses on the transactional and risk mitigation aspects of construction law. Bill spent the first 10 years of his career as a commercial architect. As a dual-professional, Bill’s experience with project procurement, design, controls, and construction administration provides him with a distinct advantage when managing the complex technical issues involved in all phases of the construction process. He counsels clients on contract drafting, and negotiation, prevention and resolution of claims, regulatory compliance, and project close-out.
Bill also has first-chair jury trial and appellate experience, helping him develop a strong understanding of state and federal construction law in the context of construction contract negotiation and risk management.
Bill received his Juris Doctor degree from The University of Texas School of Law, a Masters of Architecture from The University of Texas, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University.
Bill Erwin can be reached at 512-900-3054 or berwin@andrewsmyers.com.
“We’re thrilled to have Bill back with us again,” said Carson Fisk, Shareholder and Managing Director of the firm’s Austin office. “Bill recently brought us in on a matter when he was steering his own very successful consultancy firm, and so it seemed like a natural progression for him to rejoin us. He’s a tremendous asset to the firm and we’re glad he’s here.”
ANDREW S. BENDER – Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Andrew Bender’s practice revolves around civil litigation, with a focus on the preparation of briefing and the presentation of oral argument on appeal, as well as dispositive motion practice and jury charges at trial. At the appellate level, Andrew has represented clients in the United States Supreme Court; the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits; the Supreme Court of Texas; and nine different Courts of Appeals of Texas. Andrew has achieved success for his clients at the trial level as well.
Andrew has experience as an oral advocate and brief writer for South Texas College of Law’s nationally acclaimed advocacy program, where he helped claim the program’s 108th and 110th national advocacy championships. During this time, he also interned for Chief Justice Sherry Radack and Justice Jane Bland of the First Court of Appeals of Texas.
Andrew received his Juris Doctor degree from South Texas College of Law, where he continues to be involved as an adjunct professor of appellate advocacy, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida.

MARC S. JACOBS – Marc Jacobs’ practice focuses on all facets of commercial real estate, including the acquisition, disposition, leasing, capitalizing, financing, and development of all product types of commercial real estate. He also has considerable experience with forming and structuring limited partnerships and limited liability companies. He represents landlords and tenants in commercial leasing matters and represents clients with their ongoing business activities and general contract matters. Earlier in his career, Marc also managed various complex litigation matters for one of the largest independent banks in Texas before it was sold to a large multinational Spanish banking group.
Marc received his Juris Doctor degree from The University of Texas School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania.
