Andrew Scott’s practice focuses on advocating for general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and owners on a variety of construction related issues including litigation, contract negotiations and alternative dispute resolution. His practice also includes the ongoing representation of companies licensed by Texas state agencies.

In 2019, Andrew was appointed to serve on the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation’s Texas Tax Professional Advisory Committee, with a term set to expire in 2025.

Prior to joining the firm, Andrew served as Assistant Attorney General in the Office of the Attorney General of Texas, where he managed a civil docket in both state and federal court. Prior to obtaining his law degree at Texas Tech, Andrew was a project engineer for a regional residential and commercial contractor in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Representative Experience

  • Successfully developed a litigation strategy that led to the recession of a state agency’s cease and desist order against a company to a consent order, thereby allowing the company to remain in business
  • Served as second-chair trial counsel in defense of unique claims brought under the Texas Water Code during a week-long jury trial
  • Assist in the representation of owner, general contractor and subcontractor clients on a variety of different matters including breach of contract claims, settlement negotiations, lien removal and debt collections
  • Ongoing representation of contractors and suppliers in obtaining collection of past due accounts
  • Achieved pre-trial dismissals in multiple civil rights lawsuits filed in federal and state courts against the State of Texas and its employees and agencies
  • Former member of the Texas Attorney General’s Opioid trial team
